TURTLES

Eastern Long Neck Turtle

Krefft's River TurtleThis is a solitary example of a Krefft's River Turtle although sadly, without a size comparison for your convenience.

Photographed with only a basic digital camera and through the glass tank of its home, it nevertheless serves as a rudimentary example of the species. Its actual size, total length, when "configured" as shown, is approximately 50mm.

If you have made the decision to purchase, or already own a turtle, then please give consideration to joining the Australian Freshwater Turtle Conservation and Research Association (AFTCRA).

AFTCRA is the only institution in Australia dedicated to the protection of all Australian freshwater turtles. You can learn more about their commendable aims and activities (and download an application form) by visiting their website at: "www.aftcra.org.au".
